The SP-12 is a solar-powered battery charger and maintainer for 12V lead-acid systems. A low-profile panel supplies the charging circuit, while ring-lug leads connect the circuit box to the battery terminals.

Key Features

  • Supports 12V VRLA, AGM, gel and flooded lead-acid battery systems, including three to four batteries connected in parallel.
  • Combines solar charging with pulse conditioning for routine battery maintenance.
  • Uses monocrystalline photovoltaic cells with clear polyurethane encapsulation and a laminated aluminum back plate.
  • The red charge indicator shines steadily in full sunlight and dims in partial sunlight.
  • A quick-disconnect connection between the panel and circuit box assists installation.
  • Reverse-polarity protection is specified for the system. Follow the complete manufacturer's battery connection instructions.

Specifications

  • Model: SP-12. Part number: 735X468.
  • Solar power rating: 12W. Rated charging output: 750mA. Maximum DC output voltage: 16.5V.
  • Battery compatibility: 12V lead-acid systems; no lithium battery compatibility is promised.
  • Circuit box to ring-lug lead: 3ft. Circuit box to solar-panel lead: 17ft.
  • Package components: solar panel, circuit box and positive/negative lug connections with the stated leads.
  • Install the panel where it receives direct sunlight. Mount the circuit box close to the battery, but do not attach it directly to the battery.
  • Mounting screws, adhesive, tape, washers and cable ties are not included according to the installation guide.
  • Keep the panel clean and periodically check terminal connections. Place the circuit box away from antennas because pulsing current may interfere with nearby electronics.
